Early Beginnings...

Our beginnings started in 1947 when Harry Ross opened a small butcher’s shop selling quality meat to the general public. We soon discovered that our business was growing, and we needed to concentrate on expending the catering side of our business and in 1977 we opened our first ‘Wholesale’ premises selling high-quality meats and meat products. Our business rapidly developed and in 1983 we opened our brand-new premises in Newport and never looked back! 

We are still proud to be a local wholesaler and feel this allows us to offer a flexible and reliable service to our customers. We partner with local suppliers giving our customers a quality and comprehensive range from local meats to seasonal fruit and veg from the Isle of Wight, Hampshire, West Sussex and Dorset. We offer daily deliveries Monday to Friday with next day delivery available when ordered before 11pm, and we are pleased to announce our new Minimum Order Value of £80 for Non-Island customers and £0 for Island customers. local wholesaler and feel this allows us to offer a flexible and reliable service to our customers. 

At medina, we are planet conscious, and are committed to environmental practices, from sourcing more friendly packaging to using electric cars; we even have an internal committee charged with reducing the company’s environmental impact.
